This coffee blend is named in honor of Sgt. Daniel Thompson. Sgt. Thompson joined the Army National Guard a few years after 9/11 when he turned the age able to join the military. He had a love for sports cars and motorcycles, he always talked about his favorite cars/motorcycles and how he hoped to be able to buy one when got home. He also talked about how he was excited to continue his life with his family and fiancé after his deployment. He was to pursue his career in law enforcement when he got home. Sgt. Thompson was in IRR (individual ready reserve) when he was called up for service to Afghanistan. Sgt. Thompson was a member of PMT Crazy Horse. He was the lead driver when his Humvee hit an IED, he was killed in action on February 24^th, 2009 in Arghandab District Afghanistan. He had just returned back to Afghanistan from his 2 week leave a week prior. He talked about how much he loved spending time with his family on his leave and couldn’t wait for the deployment to be done to return home. $1 of each bag of coffee and merchandise sold in his name will be donated to help Veteran’s and Veteran’s family in need.
